Specimen, also called The Specimen , is a band that was founded in Bristol , England in 1980 and is considered one of the pioneers of Gothic .

Band history

In 1982 the band settled in Soho , London , where they played at the Batcave Club , which was founded in 1982 by Olli Wisdom, the band's lead singer, and directed until 1983.

Until the release of the compilations Warm Wet Cling - Film Red Velvet Crush and Azoic in 1997 only singles and a mini album were released. Soon the individual members were busy with other projects.

In July 2008, the 1983 cast reunited and performed in London for the 25th birthday of the Batcave.

In 2013 the album Wake the Dead was released .
