Speedball (ball sport)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Speedball , even Bouncerball (of English. To bounce , bounce ',' bounce '), is one executed with bats Torspiel and with the hockey related.

history

The game was created in the late 1990s. The team sport is characterized by a high level of game dynamics with rapidly changing game situations. Compared to hockey, the game is less regulated in detail. The playground equipment is softer and therefore has less potential for injury. 16 clubs took part in the 1st German Championship.

German bouncer ball league

In 2011, the German Bouncer Ball League (DBL) was founded. The statutes stipulate that a season consists of different tournaments, in which the respective winner is determined first through the mode of the group phase up to the knockout games and the final as the final point. The first German champion was the DJK SC Nienberge in November 2011. The club was able to successfully defend its title in the 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 seasons and is the clear dominant team and record champions of the league with six wins out of six championships played. In 2017, however, this changed due to the strong university from Marburg. They won the championship in 2017 and 2018. Nienberge came second in each case. In 2019, TV Westfalia Epe won the championship for the first time, while SC Nienberge finished second with equal points.

regulate

The current regulation was published by the German Bouncer Ball League in March 2011. The game is played on a playing field that is roughly the same size as handball and is delimited by boards . The teams consist of up to ten players, but only eight of them may be male. Six players compete against each other on the field, one of which must be female. One player each acts as a goalkeeper and must be recognizable as such. Only so-called ball bouncers with a styrofoam head are permitted as bats . The plastic ball should have a size between 12 and 16 cm in circumference and weigh between 80 and 120 g.

During the game, the field players may only touch the ball with their clubs. The goalkeeper may play the ball in the goal area with his entire body, with or without a stick. Outside the goal area, he acts like a field player. There is no final whistle when a player is substituted. Likewise, there is no out and no offside. If the ball gets out of the field of play, it is given to the opposing team of the player who last touched it. If a goal is scored, the goalkeeper continues the game immediately. The stoppage time is determined by the referee and is announced at the end of regular time.

Fouls etc.

It is considered a foul if a player pulls another's shirt or deliberately loses their stick. Foul games are generally punished with a free kick , foul play in the penalty area with a goal distance of seven meters. Gross foul play also leads to penalty minutes or dismissals. Likewise, deliberate contact with the ball with the hand or foot is punished with a free kick. If a field player is offside and deliberately plays the hand or foot game, this offense is punished with a seven-meter free kick and a two-minute penalty. If the goalkeeper touches the ball outside the goal area with his foot or hand, this will also be punished with a seven-meter free kick. Deliberate game delays will result in loss of the ball and, if the game occurs several times, with a two-minute time penalty against the team. Free kicks are always indirect, i.e. the ball may only enter the goal after a pass. Opposing players must keep a distance of three meters during the free kick. In the case of a seven-meter free kick, the goal area is clear of field players and the goalkeeper does not stand more than two meters in front of the goal line.

Rating

During a tournament , the group stage is played once for ten minutes. A winning team receives three points; in the event of a tie, one point per team is counted. The teams are then listed in descending order according to their number of points. In the event of a tie, the goal difference is counted. In the knockout process, the winning team goes to the next round. In the event of a tie, a single seven-meter shoot-out decides.

In the final, two halves of eight minutes each are played. The sides are switched during the break. If there is a tie at the end of the playing time, an extra five minutes will be added. Then a single seven-meter shooting decides.

Alternative ways of playing

As an alternative to the rules laid down by the German Bouncerball League, large parts of Germany mainly use a larger hall size for school sports. The obligation to comply with several female players is also not observed here. The regional differences can be derived from the different interpretations of the game by the respective teachers who offer Bouncerball in school sports lessons. In addition to the clubs established in the German Bouncerball League, which are mainly to be found in West Germany, clubs and departments are also founded in various other cities, each offering bouncerball with their own set of rules.
