The spear Schneider Point is a headland on the west side of Renaud Island in the archipelago of Biscoe Islands off the west coast of the West Antarctic Graham Lands . It marks the west side of the entrance to Malmgren Bay .
The headland was first shown on an Argentine map from 1957. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1959 after the Danish meteorologist Christian Julius Hansen Speerschneider (1864-1938), from 1910 to 1934 author of the annual reports of the Danmarks Meteorologiske Institute on sea ice development .
