Sperafico (family)

Sperafico is the family name of a family of Brazilian racing drivers from Toledo . A total of ten racing drivers in the family competed. Four of the family’s racing drivers achieved international fame.

The twins Ricardo and Rodrigo Sperafico (* 1979) were the most successful drivers in the family. Ricardo drove in the international Formula 3000 championship from 2001 to 2003 . He won three races and in 2003 he achieved the family's greatest success by winning the runner-up. His twin brother Rodrigo also competed in the international Formula 3000 championship in 2001 and 2002 and won a race. Her cousin Alexandre Sperafico (* 1974) also made it into the international Formula 3000 championship, but was unable to attract attention either in this series or in the Champ Car series, in which he subsequently took part in some races. Another prominent member of the family was Rafael Sperafico (1981-2007), another cousin of Ricardo and Rodrigo Sperafico. However, he never made it into the international Formula 3000 championship and in 2003 drove in the Euro Formula 3000 . In 2007 he had a fatal accident in a light class race of the Stock Car Brasil in Interlagos .
