Stock Car Brasil
Stock Car Brasil (or Campeonato Brasileiro de Stock Car ) is a Brazilian car racing series that takes place on a circuit with a firm track.
history
The first race took place on April 22, 1979 at the Autódromo de Tarumã in Rio Grande do Sul with 19 vehicles. The race was won by Affonso Giaffone . Paulo Gomes became the master .
In 1982, the first race outside of Brazil took place, namely on the Circuito do Estoril in Portugal.
From 1979 to 2007 Pirelli was the tire supplier for the series. Goodyear has been supplying the tires since 2008 .
Regulations
vehicles
The vehicles are based on the touring cars used in the V8 supercar . Drivers and vehicles have been competing in the Stock Car V8 , Stock Car V8 light and Stock Car Junior classes since 1979 . There are very detailed vehicle specifications for these classes.
Since 2010, ethanol has been prescribed as a fuel instead of gasoline. In addition, since then the engines have had electronic fuel injection instead of a carburetor .

Ingo Hoffmann is the record champion with twelve championships. Former Formula 1 participants who have driven or are still driving in the racing series include Rubens Barrichello , Luciano Burti , Christian Fittipaldi , Tarso Marques , Antonio Pizzonia , Bruno Senna , Jacques Villeneuve , Lucas di Grassi and Ricardo Zonta . Barrichello won the series in the 2014 season.
