Carlos Eduardo Santos Galvão Bueno Filho , internationally known as Cacá Bueno , (born January 24, 1976 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian automobile racing driver . Bueno is five times champion of the Stock Car Brasil (2006, 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2012) as well as two times overall winner of the Trofeo Línea .

Career

Bueno began his motorsport career in karting in 1988 , where he was active until 1992. In 1997 he got into touring car racing and immediately won the championship title in the light class of the Stock Car Brasil. In 1998 he switched to the South American Super Touring Car Championship (SASTCC), in which he drove a Peugeot 406 . After becoming runner-up in his debut season, he won the championship title in 1999. In 2000, Bueno switched to the TC2000 , an Argentine touring car championship. He competed in this series in a Peugeot 306 . After finishing his first season in 26th overall, he finished fourth in the 2001 drivers' championship.

In 2002 Bueno moved to Stock Car Brasil. He competed in Chevrolet racing cars for the first four years . First two years in the Vectra , then two years in the Astra . After finishing third in his debut season, he was runner-up three times in a row. In the four years at Opel, Bueno achieved a total of eleven victories. In 2004 and 2005 he also took part in a TC2000 race in a Honda Civic .

In 2006 Bueno switched to a Mitsubishi Lancer within Stock Car Brasil . With 4 wins out of 12 races he won the championship title for the first time. He also took part in a TC2000 race and two Porsche Supercup races this year . In 2007, Bueno defended the championship title in the Stock Car Brasil. At the same time he competed in a Honda Civic in the TC2000 and finished the season in eighth place. In 2008, Bueno concentrated again on his involvement in Stock Car Brasil. With two wins he finished fourth in the championship. In the TC2000 he only took part in one race.

In 2009, Bueno changed cars again at Stock Car Brasil and competed in a Peugeot 307 supported by Red Bull . Although the racing driver only won one race, at the end of the season it was enough to win his third championship title. In addition, he competed in individual races in various racing series such as the TC2000. In 2010, Bueno tried to defend his title in the Stock Car Brasil, but at the end of the season it was only enough to win another runner-up. He was defeated by the master Max Wilson with 264 to 265 points by only one point. At the same time, he took part in the Trofeo Línea and won the championship title. In addition, Bueno made his debut in the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) in 2010 and competed in a factory- fitted Chevrolet Cruze .

In 2011 and 2012, Bueno won the championship title of the Stock Car Brasil for the fourth and fifth time in the Red Bull team. In both years he prevailed against Ricardo Maurício . In addition, he defended the overall victory in the Trofeo Línea with five wins from twelve races. In addition, Bueno took part in the 2011 WTCC season opener for Chevrolet. With a third place he achieved a podium placement and finished 15th overall at the end of the season. He also made a guest appearance in the TC2000.
