Alexandre Sperafico
Alexandre "Alex" Sperafico (born January 21, 1974 in Toledo ) is a former Brazilian racing driver . He is the oldest of the four racing speraficos .
Career
Sperafico began his motorsport career in 1998 in the South American Formula 3 championship . He was third in the B-Class and 13th in the overall standings. In 1999 he started only in a few races of the South American Formula 3 and finished 20th overall. He also took part in half a season of the Barber Dodge Pro Series . In the following two years he started in two races of the South American Formula 3 Championship and in the Barber Dodge Pro Series, which he finished ninth in 2000 and 13th overall in 2001.
In 2002 he switched to the European-style international Formula 3000 championship for the European Minardi F3000 team , which is managed by Coloni Motorsport . Alexandre Sperafico met his cousins Rodrigo and Ricardo Sperafico in the series . Alexandre was the most unsuccessful of the three Speraficos and was replaced by Justin Keen after nine races . At the end of the season he finished 22nd overall without having scored any points.
In 2003 he returned to America and started a race in the Barber Dodge Pro Series. He also made his Champ Cars debut for Dale Coyne Racing . Sperafico started in two races in the 2003 season and finished the season in 26th place in the championship. In 2004 he got a cockpit at Conquest Racing . He could n't keep up with his teammate Justin Wilson and was replaced by Nelson Philippe after eight races . At the end of the season he finished 19th. In 2005 he only participated in two champ car races for CTE Racing-HVM . He replaced Ronnie Bremer and was eventually replaced by Rodolfo Lavín himself . With an eighth place he achieved his best Champ Car result this season and was 20th in the overall ranking.
In 2006 he took part in nine races of the Atlantic Championship for Brooks Associates Racing . He could not convince in the series and was 22nd overall.
After the 2006 season, Alexandre Sperafico ended his racing career.
