Barber Dodge Pro Series
The Barber Dodge Pro Series , also called Barber Pro Series (English) was a racing series for monoposti that took place between 1986 and 2003 . It was not driven by amateurs, but by paid drivers. The cars were subject to uniform regulations and can be viewed as a brand formula . Mainly street courses were used, but also some oval courses . The series was initiated by the former Formula 1 driver and racing school operator Skip Barber . Depending on the engine supplier, the series was called " Barber Saab Pro Series " when it was introduced and was later renamed. Due to discrepancies within the " Championship Auto Racing Teams " association, the series was discontinued in 2004.

Initially, a Saab H engine (four-cylinder in-line engine with 16 valves) with a turbocharger and a displacement of just under 2 liters worked in a tubular frame chassis made of duralumin from Mondiale . This had 225 American SAE horsepower. In 1995 this was replaced by a 240 hp 3.2l Dodge V6 engine and the name of the series was changed. The development of the engine later brought performances of up to 265 hp.
In 1998, the tubular frame chassis was a monocoque of Reynard replaced.
In 1986 and 1987 the cars ran on road tires; from 1988 slicks were allowed.
