Lock point Saint-George
The lock point Saint-George was a defensive position of the Swiss army . It is located in the municipality of Saint-George in the Vaud Jura at 1088 m . It was built during the Second World War and is considered a military monument of regional importance.
Lock point Saint-George
The Saint-George blocking point is located on the pass road ( Route du Marchairuz ) to the Col du Marchairuz near the Jura pasture La Saint-George about two kilometers north of Saint-George.
It consisted of a tank barricade and five infantry bunkers for protection and belonged to the area of operation of Border Brigade 1 of the 1st Army Corps .
Saint George Infantry Plant
The main plant (army designation “St. George West” A 641) is located on a small rock wall in the forest ⊙ : three bunkers are on the ridge and had to cover the blocking point from there. A fourth bunker is at the foot of the rock face and is camouflaged with cement-coated wire mesh.
The counterwork is an infantry bunker ("St. George Ost" A 642), which is located in the middle of the Jura pasture La Saint-George not far from the pass road, and is camouflaged as a rural alpine building ⊙ .
