history

The Speyrer Pfarrpfründe was so named because the Guidonsstift in Speyer had the right of patronage over this parish .

In a document from the year 1057, King Heinrich IV gave the Bishop of Speyer a Frongut (praedium) in Eppingen that belonged to the Church of Our Lady in Eppingen. The Bishop of Speyer placed the parish under the archdeaconate of St. Guidonsstift in Speyer . The income initially remained with the cathedral dean and the cathedral chapter of the Speyer diocese . In 1502 the parish office was converted so that the parish function was provided by a vicar .

As a result of the Reformation , the parish passed to the Reformed, who put a deacon in the place of a pastor. The St. Guidonsstift still had to pay the salary because it still received part of the tithe in Eppingen.

In 1801 the St. Guidonsstift sold a large part of its goods in Eppingen and in 1803 it was abolished by secularization . This gave the Grand Duchy of Baden the remaining possessions of the monastery. From now on, the tithe was collected from the Sinsheim monastery and the Reformed pastor was paid from this income.
