The Spichererkopf seen from the north, the most prominent peak appearance in the pan woods , the long, the little thumb trending east ridge on the Mittagsspitze ends. The height of the Spichererkopf was never exactly determined. It is approx. 1900 m. There are no marked hiking trails on the Spichererkopf. It is usually climbed in the course of crossing the pan woods from the Mittagspitze to the Little Thumb. Further climbs lead through the northwest flank of the Wiesloher Hütte or through the so-called "Klockars Rinne" (shown in the photo) that extends north from the saddle east of the summit. All climbs require experience in the pathless, steep craggy terrain and include short climbing sections in grade II of the UIAA scale. The Spichererkopf is mostly climbed by locals.
In the winter of 1993/94 the carved figure of Christ on the summit cross of the Spichererkopf was stolen by strangers, which caused quite a stir and outrage at the time. 17 years later, in August 2011, a shepherd from the local alp found the damaged crucifix under a pile of stones. The wood sculptor Fritz Thannheimer, who created it, wants to reinstall it on the summit after restoration.
