The spike tower is a remnant of the city fortifications of Düren in North Rhine-Westphalia . The tower is also called the "gray cap".

The semi-circular bastion tower made of bricks stands in a green area between Kämergasse and Stürtzstrasse . Inside there is a quarry stone wall , with a vaulted dome on the upper and lower floors. The masonry is 0.80 m thick. The tower was restored in the 1990s. A remnant of the city ​​wall is left behind the tower .

The tower was built at the beginning of the 16th century and is part of the Düren city wall .

The building is entered under No. 1/008 in the list of monuments of the city of Düren.
