The casino in the CityPalais

The casino Duisburg , including Duisburg Casino , is the fourth and youngest casino in North Rhine-Westphalia . Spielbank Duisburg is part of the Westspiel Group , which maintains, among others, the Spielbank Aachen , Spielbank Bad Oeynhausen , Spielbank Hohensyburg and five other locations in Germany. The Duisburg casino is the top-selling casino in Germany.

history

The Duisburg casino was opened on February 23, 2007 in the CityPalais entertainment complex, which was built on the site of the former Mercatorhalle . This was preceded by a lengthy discussion about the location, so that in 2002 a slot machine was opened in the building of the old post office as a temporary measure. With 600,000 visitors in less than five years, it exceeded the set expectations and was integrated into the new casino in 2007. In the first year, 700,000 people visited the casino and brought in 60 million euros in sales. Since then, the Duisburg casino has been the most successful of all 77 casinos in Germany with 450,000 to 500,000 guests per year.

Facilities

The casino has the slot machines over 354 slot machines (machines), including 50 multi-roulette stations. In the classic game there are also 18 American roulette tables, four poker tables (Texas Hold'em, sometimes also Omaha), eight blackjack tables and 17 multi-roulette stations.

The casino also includes the restaurant “inside”, which was awarded the top rating “three suns” by the gourmet magazine “Savoir Vivre” and was twice named “Germany's Restaurant of the Month”.

However, since the end of 2017 it has only been open on two Sundays a month and is otherwise only available for private and company events.
