The game board , also known as the game board , is a medium that is used in various forms of games .

In board games , it is the central location or platform on which the game takes place. Pieces or pieces are placed, drawn or taken down on the game board according to the respective rules. Examples of board games with game plans in the classic sense are: Don't get angry , Maleficent , Checkers , Chess , Go or Backgammon . A game plan can also be variable; Examples of this are the games The Settlers of Catan or Carcassonne . Here the game board is put together from individual parts for each game. Often a game board is provided with a Kramer track on which the points of the players are recorded.

A game plan is also used in role-playing games . Here it is used to keep track of what is happening in special situations, e.g. B. a tactical combat situation, to clarify visually. The game master draws a map on which the players' figures as well as the non-player figures are placed. The actions that are visualized on the game board then take place in rounds.

The game plan has a similar meaning to the role-playing game in tabletop games. In contrast to the role-playing game, however, the tabletop consists exclusively of tactical situations that are dealt with on a turn-based basis. Game plans that are used in tabletop games are often more complex and detailed than the mostly provisional plans within the role-playing game.
