Spirit of Manila Airlines was a Philippine low-cost airline based at Angeles City Airport , the former US Clark Air Base , 60 km northwest of Manila .

history

The airline was launched in 2008. Initially, the plan was to fly to destinations in the Middle East and the Asia region from Angeles City Airport. This also included the flight connection Angeles City – Bangkok – Karatchi – Bahrain, which was only flown briefly. The first aircraft the airline received was an MD-83 previously used by Avianca . Later the airline only flew one route, Angeles City – Taipei, which was served three times a week. Operations were stopped again in the first half of 2011.
