description

The three-wing complex was rebuilt around 1700 and expanded in 1764. The two-storey complex has a north-facing inner courtyard with a fountain from 1770. The fountain figure dates from the second half of the 17th century. The main portal is on the south facade, which is accentuated by a central risalit with a curved gable . The painted coat of arms of the cathedral chapter of Augsburg and the founder can be seen on the gable .

History of the hospital

The administration of the hospital was transferred to the cathedral chapter of Augsburg in 1613. With his foundation in 1764, Johann Franz Wilhelm Freiherr von Bettendorf enabled the extension to include two side wings. During the secularization, the Bavarian state took over the cathedral chapter foundation. From 1853, Sisters of Charity began to work in the care. In 1979 secular staff were added, who have been looking after the house alone since 1980.
