The sports community Ordnungspolizei Litzmannstadt ( SG OrPo Litzmannstadt for short ) was a sports club from the city of Łódź in occupied Poland during the Second World War . It was founded in 1940 as Police Litzmannstadt .

Soccer

The club achieved its greatest success in the 1941/42 season , when it first secured victory in the second season of the Gauliga Wartheland and then in the final of the Wartheland championship against DSC Posen 2-0 and 3-0 in both games could decide for himself. This qualified the club for the final round of the German championship . After receiving a bye there in the first round, they clearly lost out in the round of 16 with a 1: 8 at VfB Königsberg .

At the beginning of the new season, the name was changed to Sportgemeinschaft Ordnungspolizei Litzmannstadt . Under the new name, however, the sports community could no longer build on the great success of the previous year. After the end of the war in 1945, the association finally went out.
