German field handball championship 1942/43

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The German field handball championship 1942/43 was the 22nd German field handball championship . At the beginning of the season, the name Sportgau was reintroduced in line with the regional structure of the NSDAP. Due to the war, the division of individual Gaue was continued, so there were 28 Gauligen this season, the winners of which qualified for the German championship. This was played out completely in the knockout system . In the end, SG OrPo Hamburg secured their second championship title with a 12: 6 success in the final against WTSV Schweinfurt (1941 as SV Police Hamburg ).

Participants in the final round

The Gaumeister Niederrheins ( TuRa Wuppertal ) was not yet determined at the beginning of the final round, so no representative from this Gau took part in this year's final round. For unknown reasons, more than one representative from the districts of Northern Bavaria, Southern Bavaria and Weser-Ems took part in the final round.
