SG Siemens Erlangen
The SG Siemens Erlangen - more precisely the Siemens Erlangen sports association - is a Siemens company sports club in Erlangen . In table tennis , the women's team played in the Bundesliga founded in 1972 .

history
The table tennis division was founded on March 5, 1954 as TTC Blau-Gold Siemens Erlangen on the initiative of Gustl Stührk . In 1955 they joined the Siemens Erlangen sports community. Since 2007, it has been an independent, non-profit association integrated into the Siemens Erlangen leisure community.
Women's team
The women's team rose in 1970 from the Bayernliga to the Oberliga , which was the highest German division at the time. In 1972 she was one of the clubs in the newly formed two-part Bundesliga . The rise was achieved in the cast of Traudl Daniel (née Kunstmann), Eva Heinke, Petra Gassong, Christel Höhn, Gisela Fiedler (née Reiter), Brigitte Bauer (née Reiter), Pia Burschet and Ursula Brandt. In the 1972/73 season she was penultimate in the Southwest group. Because of the last place in the following year, she had to relegate in 1974.
After retiring to the Middle Franconian League in 1981, the women played in the regional and Bavarian leagues in the following years, and in the upper league from 1994 to 1998. After that, the team was only active at the district level.
Men's team
The men were only successful at the state level in Bavaria.
