The Zehlendorf sports hall (also called Onkel-Tom-Halle ) is a sports hall in the Berlin district of Zehlendorf in the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district .

history

The sports hall is located at Onkel-Tom-Straße 58-60 and was built in the 1960s. It is 900 m² in size and has seating for around 200 people. The hall is available for schools and clubs for lessons and training from Monday to Friday. On the weekends it is used for competitions and tournaments. In the hall is handball , volleyball and hockey played. In winter, the Zehlendorfer rowing club trains in the annex to the hall with its own flow channel. The sports hall also has a multipurpose room for table tennis and other recreational sports. The Zehlendorfer Tanzverein organizes its rock 'n' roll tournaments in the hall and the karate club its fighting games. The Berlin championships are held there in both sports. A boxing ring is also part of the hall .
