Sports badge of the state capital Wiesbaden
The sports plaque of the state capital Wiesbaden is the highest award of the city of Wiesbaden in Hesse for sport.
purpose
The plaque is intended for outstanding sporting achievements by active people from Wiesbaden gymnastics and sports clubs or for young people who have distinguished themselves through a commendable attitude in sport. It is awarded annually to individuals or teams.
Award criteria
The sports badge of the state capital Wiesbaden can only be awarded to members of Wiesbaden gymnastics and sports clubs, provided that these clubs are members of the German Olympic Sports Confederation , thus belonging to a professional association of the State Sports Federation of Hesse .
The plaque can be given to young people, juniors or adult active people who have been qualified and nominated for the following competitions officially announced by the respective leading associations:
In addition to the athletes honored for outstanding performance, up to five people can be honored each year who have made special contributions to Wiesbaden sport. In addition, up to three young people can be honored annually who have distinguished themselves through a commendable attitude in sport, for example through social or ecological commitment.
Each level of the badge can only be awarded once to the same person, after the golden sports badge a special honor can take place.
The Wiesbaden Sports District of the State Sports Association of Hesse, the Leisure and Sports Commission of the City of Wiesbaden, the City Council or clubs that do not belong to the State Sports Association of Hesse are eligible to apply. The decision on the specific award is made by the magistrate.
Award
The award ceremony takes place in a dignified setting during a special ceremony. The gold, silver or bronze plaque, depending on the placement of the respective active, is presented together with a certificate from the City of Wiesbaden; in certain cases the certificate is awarded without a plaque.
