As explosive Authorized or shooting guardian , known locally as the explosives expert in Austria explosive officer , a person is referred to the statutory training courses to acquire the expertise in blasting techniques (for example, in Germany on the basis of § 7 , § 20 and § 27 Explosives Act and the 1. Germany

The courses must be taken at a state or state-recognized training facility ("explosive school") and deal with, among other things, legal provisions, technical rules on explosives law and explosive techniques. Categories include the mining ( shotfirer ), quarrying and civil engineering and demolition company, in disaster prevention , the subject blasting of the THW .

Requirements are the completed 21 year of age, a clearance certificate according to § 34 of the First Ordinance on the Explosives Act and an activity as an explosive assistant in a company.

The basic courses are

  • the basic course for general blasting work and culture blasting
  • the basic course for blasting work underground / tunnel construction.

The special blasting courses are among others

  • the special course for blasting structures and parts of structures
  • the special course for underwater blasting
  • the special course for ice blasting
  • the special course for blasting hot masses
  • the special course for snow field blasting
  • the special course for large borehole blasting.

Austria

In Austria, explosions may only be carried out by "explosives authorized" according to professional principles and with the application and observance of the necessary safety measures. There are exceptions to this for agricultural and forestry operations or on their own land, where blasting work may also be carried out by people who only have simple evidence of sufficient training for this activity and thus the prerequisite for obtaining an explosives purchase certificate.

The Austrian specialist knowledge training areas are:

  • a) general blasting work (including demolition blasting, ice blasting, metal blasting, series parallel connections for blasting work, blasting work underground)
  • b) Deep borehole blasting operations
  • c) Blasting work under water
  • d) Blasting work in hot masses
  • e) Avalanche blasting work
  • f) Avalanche blasting work from the helicopter

The admission requirements are:

  • for b), d) and e): general blasting work
  • for c) general blasting work and specialist knowledge for carrying out general diving work
  • for f) general blasting work and avalanche detonation work
