Springer's dwarf perch ( Pseudochromis springeri ) is a fish from the family of dwarf perch (Pseudochromidae).

features

Springer's dwarf perch is up to 6 cm long and has an elongated body shape with two long and narrow dorsal and pelvic fins lying on the side of the body and a rounded tail fin . Except for the small transparent pelvic fin , the fins are dark gray-blue like the entire body. Two bright blue stripes that cover the head and are reminiscent of the pattern of a cleaner fish are striking . The eye lies between them. In addition, the fins have a light to dark blue border.

distribution

The distribution area is limited exclusively to the Red Sea .

Way of life

This species of dwarf perch lives in hiding rock and coral reefs up to 60 m deep. It can be found individually as well as in pairs and defends its territory aggressively against conspecifics .
