Squire Island is a small island in the Wilhelm Archipelago off the west coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located immediately northeast of Friar Island in the group of the Wauwermans Islands .
The island is recorded for the first time on an Argentine map from 1950. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1958 after a character from the Canterbury Tales of the English writer Geoffrey Chaucer .
