Sr'bium ( Latin Serapeum, also Sarabium, Arabic سرايبوم) is a village in al-Ismaʿiliyya Governorate in Egypt . It is located about eight kilometers northwest of the great bitter lake al-Buhayrah al-Murra al-Kubra . To the east of the village is the Suez Canal . The administrative center of the governorate is located in Ismailia, about 13 kilometers to the northwest . The main source of income for the inhabitants is agriculture. The name of the village suggests a serapeum for the god Serapis from pre-Christian and pre-Islamic times .
