Al-Ismaʿiliyya ( Arabic محافظة الإسماعيلية Muhāfazat al-Ismāʿīliyya , DMG Muḥāfaẓat al-Ismāʿīliyya , also Ismailia ) is a governorate in Egypt with 1,303,993 inhabitants and is located in the Suez Canal zone .
It is bordered by the Bur Said governorate to the north, the Shimal Sina governorate to the east, the al-Suwais governorate to the south and the al-Qahira and al-Sharqiyya governorates to the west . The administrative center is Ismailia .
