ad-Daqahliyya ( Arabic محافظة الدقهلية Muhāfazat ad-Daqahliyya , DMG Muḥāfaẓat al-Daqahliyya , also Dakahlija ) is a governorate in the eastern Nile Delta in Egypt with 6,492,381 inhabitants.
It borders the Mediterranean Sea and the Dumyat Governorate to the north, the Bur Saʿid Governorate to the east, the Ash-Sharqiyya and al-Gharbiyya governorates to the south, and the Kafr al-Sheikh governorate to the west . The administrative center is al-Mansura .
