Menachem ben Jakob ibn Saruq (Hebrew רַבִּי מְנַחֵם בֶּן סָרוּק, abbreviated רמב״ס, also Menahem b. Saruk etc .; * approx. 920 in Tortosa ; † approx. 970 ) was a Sephardic philologist and poet .

He lived in Cordoba . His Hebrew dictionary Machberet was sharply criticized by his opponent Dunasch ben Labrat and his students due to a lack of scientific knowledge, but this book has the merit of being the first reasonably complete dictionary of the Hebrew language, which also sorts the word stems according to language roots. It has been used extensively for centuries.

The disputes over this dictionary gave rise to the discovery of tri-radicalism .
