Ssangyong Engineering and Construction ( Ssangyong E&C ) is a South Korean company in the field of civil engineering and construction . The company was founded in 1977 as an offshoot of the cement manufacturer Ssangyong Cement Industrial Company. In 1998, Ssangyong E&C was ranked 61st in the list of the 250 largest construction contractors, according to a publication in Engineering News-Record . Ssangyong E&C was one of the main contractors for the construction of the Swissôtel The Stamford and the Marina Bay Sands facility.
