Support arch cross

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The supporting arch cross is a heraldic image that is rarely used in heraldry .

A cross with four arms that form an inwardly curved semicircle is shown. This basic shape is supplemented by a cross inserted in the middle with a straight beam and post . If this cross represents a high cross, it is emblazoned as a supporting arch high cross , as it is in the coat of arms of Kiekebusch.

Two typical representatives are the coat of arms of Hermsdorf and the coat of arms of Schönefeld. The latter was designed by the heraldist Frank Diemar . Both coats of arms symbolically show the cross, which stands for the Hermsdorfer Kreuz and Schönefeld motorway intersections in their immediate vicinity .
