St. Francis House

The St.-Franziskus-Haus is a listed Roman Catholic parish hall in Bitterfeld-Wolfen in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

It is located in the city center of Bitterfeld at the address Röhrenstraße 6 on the northwest side of Röhrenstraße. A little northeast of the house is the Roman Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus .

Architecture and history

The two-story plastered building was built in 1924. An expressionist baroque is specified as the architectural style . It has a strictly symmetrical structure and is covered by a curved hipped roof. The central entrance to the house is crowned by a sculpture of Francis, which is flanked by two windows designed as round arches . The house has a basement.

The St. Franziskus House is regarded as an important social and cultural historical cultural monument for the city of Bitterfeld and in particular its Roman Catholic community.

In the local register of monuments , the parish hall is registered as a monument under registration number 094 17632 .
