The St. Johannis Church is a church founded in 1113 in Poppenbüll on Eiderstedt in North Frisia . The brick- built church combines Romanesque and Gothic elements. It is located on a terp and is the successor to a chapel from the 10th century.

Characteristic

The church is the only one in Eiderstedt to have a bronze baptism , which Melchior Lucas made in 1590. It is carried by the four evangelists . The altar panels from Märten vonuchten come from the same period. Also at the end of the 16th and beginning of the 17th century, parts of the carved stalls were created, which show the splendor of the work of the time. The pulpit, however, corresponds to the Eiderstedt scheme, the altar is the same copy as that in the Church of the world .
