Architecture and history

The simple, eaves-standing apartment building was built in the mid-1860s. The three-and-a-half-story house was built by master bricklayer Behrendt for the carter Carl Ziebke . The facade is designed in the style of late classicism and is structured by cornices and cautiously inserted window profiles in the style typical of the construction period. The building is covered by a gable roof .

The residential building and the neighboring houses at St.-Michael-Straße 56 and 57 form a group that characterizes the street scene. The strong contrast to the appearance of the neo-renaissance house at St.-Michael-Strasse 57 is remarkable. It is an important example of a simple tenement house from the early Wilhelminian period in Sudenburg.

The building is currently (as of 2016) empty and in need of renovation.

In the local register of monuments , the house is listed as a monument under registration number 094 71421 .
