The Sparkasse Rastatt-Gernsbach is a public-law savings bank based in Rastatt in Baden-Württemberg . It was created in 1991 through the merger of the Rastatt and Gernsbach district savings banks . Their customer centers and offices are located in the Rastatt district in the two spatially unrelated areas of the predecessor institutes: On the one hand, the city of Rastatt and surrounding communities in the Rhine valley , and on the other hand, the city of Gernsbach and surrounding communities in the Murg Valley .

history

The Rastatt Sparkasse started business in 1839 as a savings company for the Oberamt Rastatt. In 1930, it became the Rastatt district savings bank.

The district savings bank Gernsbach was founded in 1857 at the suggestion of the bailiff of the district office Gernsbach, Baron von Goeler. The Murgschifferschaft , in whose office the Sparkasse was initially housed, played an important role . In the beginning, the tramships also paid interest on the deposits and provided the treasurer and chairman of the board of directors. In 1902 and 1903 the Gernsbacher Sparkasse founded branches in Gaggenau and Forbach , in 1914 it had 8,256 depositors. In 1920 she started the check, giro and current account transactions.
