St. Stephen's Church (Hadmersleben)
The Sankt-Stephani-Kirche is a church building in the town of Hadmersleben in Saxony-Anhalt, part of the town of Oschersleben (Bode) .
The church is located south of Hadmersleben Castle .
Architecture and history
The hall church was built from rubble stones between 1745 and 1747, presumably instead of a castle chapel, and served as an official and village church. The church tower is to the west of the elongated nave. The church is covered with a gable roof . An extension for the patronage box is on the north side.
The interior of the church is spanned by a wooden barrel ceiling. There is a two-level horseshoe gallery . The stately box opens onto the nave by means of two large round arches. In the church there is a pulpit altar with wooden columns and acanthus cheeks . A baptismal font from the late Romanesque period with a round bowl and shaft ring is remarkable . There are corner leaves at the foot.
