The old St. Bartholomew's Church in the Wieblingen district of Heidelberg is a baroque village church.

It was built between 1744 and 1746 according to plans by Johann Jakob Rischer under the supervision of the government master builder Kaspar Valerius. It was built for the Catholic community, which shared the old Wieblingen church with the Protestants from 1545 to 1705. The floor plan of the single-nave church originally showed three window axes in the nave with a pentagonal outside and semicircular choir and sacristy extension on the inside. Facing the street, the building has a show facade with a curved gable, two volutes and three spheres. The sides and front facade are framed with corner pilasters . The tower is crowned by a baroque dome.

After the Second World War, a new church was built for the growing community , which was consecrated in 1956. The old church was preserved, but for traffic reasons it was shortened by a window axis in 1970/71 and the facade was set back. The original dimensions of the floor plan are marked in the paving of the sidewalk. 1973–1977 the church was rebuilt, the choir arch and altars were removed and today's benches were inserted. In the course of the following years the church was re-equipped with parts of the original interior, such as the large cross on the choir wall, the figures of saints and pictures and the renovated Way of the Cross. A Walcker organ was also reinstalled in 1995.

The church had three bells, which were hung in the tower after the completion of the new church. Since 1980 a bell has been hanging in the tower of the old church, which was cast in 1921 by the Grüninger bell foundry for the St. Hippolyt and Kassian branch church in Buchen -Rinschheim.

Since May 2016 the church has been a regular place of celebration for the masses (Qurbono) of the local Syro-Malankara Catholic community .
