St. Boniface (Mühlhausen)
The Roman Catholic Church of St. Bonifatius is located in the district town of Mühlhausen at Blobachstrasse 5 in the Unstrut-Hainich district in Thuringia .
history
In 1851 the church was built as a chapel in the neo-Gothic style. The inauguration took place on November 16, 1851. Nothing is known about a predecessor in the available literature.
1862 the church was the cultivation of a tower extended. In 1959 a renovation with the redesign of the chapel took place in accordance with the requirements of the Catholic faith. With a new altar , a new choir cross , a confessional as well as a new lectern and priest's seat , iron and wood were built. The tabernacle and candlestick were newly created.
In June and July the roofs and the tower were re-covered with slate . The tower cross was also renewed.
After a construction period of one year, the church was inaugurated on June 14, 2009. Part of the church is also used by the Catholic kindergarten .
