Georgi Church (Mühlhausen)
The Protestant Georgi Church is located in the district town of Mühlhausen in the Georgi suburb on the Unstrutfurt in the Unstrut-Hainich district in Thuringia .
history
The church was first mentioned in documents in 1359 when a new building was being built. The choirless church was built as a hall church with four bays and a west tower . The east gable with three windows is the front side of the street leading past the Unstrutfurt. On the roof there is a gable from which one could monitor the ford with one side. On the south side of the church, a chapel was built in 1370 , which has only now been accessed from the hall. The parish uses the chapel as a baptistery . The tower, which is similar to the towers of St. Martini and St. Kiliani , was not erected until 1748-1749.
