history

The Catholic parish church of St. Clemens was built between 1890 and 1891 by local stonemasons and bricklayers based on designs by the Cologne architect Heinrich Nagelschmidt . The restoration of the stained glass windows, which had been destroyed during the Second World War , took place in three phases from 1953 and was completed between 1979 and 1980 with the reconstruction of the original neo-Gothic painting. Since 1900, the original central choir window has replaced stained glass in the Nazarene style depicting figures of saints. The remaining window areas were designed by K. Dedy in 1990.

architecture

It is a neo-Gothic three-nave brick hall church with a slate roof and a square tower in the west. There are still three Gothic carved altars and the organ front from the original furnishings . In 1982/83 a matching pulpit from Kürten - Bechen was added.
