history

The former Romanesque double chapel is a hall church with a retracted choir, an east tower with an onion dome and a nave from the 12th century. The choir and east tower date from the 18th century. The church was given its current baroque appearance by the abbot Frobenius, whose coat of arms is still today can be seen at the apex of the choir arch. From 2006 to 2007 the church was renovated. The church is only accessible during services.

Buildings and equipment

The church building is surrounded by a high wall fence. The nave, the choir and the tower are richly decorated with ribbons and pilaster strips. On the north side of the nave is a flat extension that serves as a sacristy. On the west wall there is a small gable building that houses the Lourdes grotto .

The massive groin vault has been preserved from the Romanesque era , which is visually loosened up by the delicate paintings on the edge by Mathias Schiffer . The large ceiling painting shows the death of St. Colomans.

The main altar contains a figure of the church patron St. Coloman . On the sides of the main altar there are figures of the bishops St. Wolfgang and St. Emmeram . The left side altar contains a late Gothic figure of Mary.
