St. Dionysius (Niedersgegen)
St. Dionysius is a Roman Catholic branch church in Niedersgegen , a district of Körperich ( Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm ) in Rhineland-Palatinate .
history
St. Dionysius is a small hall building closed on three sides with two bays and a roof turret. The chapel, originally consecrated to St. Donatus, was attached to a medieval tower from the 14th / 15th centuries. Century (see Schlossgut Petry ) using the tower wall.
The tower is a five-storey, plastered quarry stone building with stone-visible corner blocks with a barrel-vaulted basement. In the course of a renovation in 1968/69, this was combined with the chapel and the entrance was moved to the street side.
