St. Georg in Gödewitz

St. Georg is a listed church ruin in the village of Gödewitz of the unified municipality of Salzatal in Saxony-Anhalt . In the local register of monuments it is listed as a monument under registration number 094 55318 .

The sacred building consecrated to St. George is located on Schäferberg in Gödewitz. Due to the west transverse tower, the Romanesque building is dated to the High Middle Ages. In the late Middle Ages , the building was extended and rebuilt. After the Thirty Years War the building was rebuilt. Due to the decay, the roof of the church had to be removed a few years ago.
