Order of St. George (Romania)

The Order of Saint George ( Romanian Ordin Sfântul Gheorghe ) was founded on March 8, 1940 by King Carol II of Romania as an Order of Military Merit for merit exclusively earned during the war. He replaced the medal bene merenti (Romania) with swords. Were awarded officers , NCOs and teams and associate civil military personnel.

Carrying method

The ribbon is blue with narrow green side stripes and then gold edge stripes and green edges.

After the abdication of King Carol II, the order was not awarded by his successor, King Michael I of Romania .
