St. Godehard (Eimbeckhausen)

The St. Godehard Church was the Catholic Church in Eimbeckhausen , a district of Bad Münder am Deister in the Hameln-Pyrmont district in Lower Saxony . Most recently, the church belonged to the parish of St. Johannes Baptist with its seat in Bad Münder, in what was then the dean's office of Hameln in the diocese of Hildesheim . The church was named after St. Godehard von Hildesheim and was located at St.-Godehard-Straße 5A. Today the closest Catholic church is in Bad Münder, about five kilometers away.

history

In 1960 the church was built as a branch church of the then curative community of St. Johannes Baptist in Bad Münder. The foundation stone was laid on July 17, 1960, and the consecration of the church by Auxiliary Bishop Heinrich Pachowiak followed on December 4 of the same year . In 1993 the church was closed again.

Architecture and equipment

The church with its cross-crowned tower, about 129 meters above sea level, was built according to plans by the architect Rumpf from Paderborn .
