St. Hubertus

The Evangelical Church of St. Hubertus is in Marksuhl in the Wartburg district in Thuringia .

location

The church is located in the center of Marksuhl, directly on federal road 84, directly opposite the Marksuhler Schloss . The church tower, together with the tower of the castle, characterizes the townscape, both towers are depicted in the coat of arms of the community of Marksuhl.

history

Two master builders were responsible for the construction of the church tower in 1454. As early as 1463, two bells for the church were ordered from the bell foundry in Apolda . It is said that the nave was not added until 1480 due to a lack of funds . In 1530 the parish changed to the Protestant faith.
