The Protestant Church of St. Jakobus is located in the Rottenbach district of the city of Königsee in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district in Thuringia .

history

The existence of bells is documented in 1253 , but not a church building . It was the bell of the previous church. The church was built from 1683 to 1685 on the foundations of the former Catholic chapel .

The building in Upper Rottenbach has a colorful and rich with gold ornate monumental altarpiece from the 15th century from the hands of Valentin loin d'etat .

The church houses a Johann Friedrich Schulze - organ of the 1850th
