St. Juliana in Sachsenburg

The Protestant village church of St. Juliana is in the Sachsenburg district of An der Schmücke in the Kyffhäuserkreis in Thuringia .

history

The church was built from 1838 to 1840, instead of the Church of the Holy Cross , which had been demolished due to dilapidation , as a classicist, towerless rectangular building with a gable roof . Spolia and grave slabs were taken from the previous building in the new house. The facade is loosened up by arched windows with muntins and horizontal cornices .

The church is equipped with an altar , baptismal stand , lectern , galleries and organ as well as a memorial plaque for the war victims.
