Anne Drescher , b. Rietzke (* 2. May 1962 in Lübz ) is a former civil rights activist of the GDR and historian. Since August 2013 she has been the state commissioner for the records of the State Security Service of the former GDR in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

Life

Anne Drescher was born in Lübz in a parish household. Since she was neither a member of the Young Pioneers nor the FDJ , she was not allowed to study in the GDR. She trained as a nurse and worked at the Schwerin District Hospital . In 1984 she was one of the founders of the “ Women for Peace ” Schwerin and worked from 1986 to 1988 as a member of the “Peace” working group of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mecklenburg. Since 1994 she has been an employee at the LStU Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, initially in the citizen's advice service, then from 2007 as the deputy state representative. In addition to her work, she studied history and philosophy at the Fernuniversität Hagen . In August 2013 she was elected by the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania state parliament as the state commissioner for the records of the state security service of the former GDR in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The one-time re-election for five years took place in June 2018.

In 2018 she was supported by the Doping Victims Aid. V. honored with the anti-doping prize for their commitment to the benefit of sports victims .
