history
The village church standing on a small hill has old choir walls from the Middle Ages from a pilgrimage or station chapel . The church building was mentioned as a chapel in 1529.
The late Gothic chapel was repainted between 1651 and 1654 and 1661. In 1729 it received a new design. The tower received its hipped roof with its octagonal ridge turrets in the first half of the 19th century . The sacristy was added to the north side of the choir in 1889 as part of a complete renovation.
According to the legend, Katharina von Schaumburg was the eponym because she escaped execution to death by a coincidence.
Some figures of saints and gilded altarpieces decorate the church.
