St. Katharina (Jenalöbnitz)
The village church of St. Katharina is in the municipality of Jenalöbnitz in the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia .

history
On May 29, 1395, Jenalöbnitz was called a village church . In 1392 the Jena councilman Albrecht von Tümplingen donated a bell to the church in Jenalöbnitz . It still exists today. In 1516 consideration was given to building a new church. The Thirty Years War prevented it. In 1666 the parish repaired the last war damage to the church.
The organ
In 1756 Justinus Ehrenfried Gerhard bought an organ for 50 Reichstaler . But it was replaced by a new organ in 1895/96 by the organ builder Hugo Schramm from Bürgel . This is still in the church today. The prospect pipes became victims of the First World War and could only be replaced by new pipes made of zinc in 1927 .
further activities
In 1770 expansion and renovation work took place. The half-timbering on the church was attached around 1900. In 1990 there was again emergency safety in the choir and on the hip roof .
The church building association
In 2004, the believers founded a church building association, which now took responsibility, because the house was open for many years. Objects were stolen, but the organ was left untouched.
